Oct 3rd 7:55AM
Got in the stand at about 6:40 or so, got the camera runnin, bow set, Ready To Go.
at 7:00 the feeder down the way goes off as planned, so the deer should be moving through my area any time. Got contact with them (3 doe, 1 fawn, and a spike buck) about 7:20. Tried to get an opening to take the buck, but to no avail, they headed down for breakfast.
I have been watching them on the field cams for a few weeks, and have their pattern down.
At 7:45 ar so they come back up the trail, this time with the doe in the lead.
She stopped to smell the ground.
Her Last Mistake….
Bowtech General “El Jefe”, and the Smoke Broadhead saw to that……
Camera pics from this week, late food plot is going good.
Pulled my SD card today from my spot up on Mount Mutherfucker down by Kiowa. This buck shows up a few times…once in broad daylight. I’m not sure if this is the same buck as last year that we named Nickolai Volkoff, but they kinda have the same rack. This one seems a bit smaller, though. Maybe he’s just gotten older and started to lose antler growth. Not sure. Him and a shitload of does, along with some smaller bucks are using the same trail as the past 3 years. He needs to go, though. Hopefully I can arrange a meeting between him and The Almighty.

Been trapping hogs with Greg out by the prison. Hogs have been coming over and getting into the cornfields and the prison farmboss wants em gone. So far we’re up to over 20 hogs, including this brute. He tipped the scales at 370lbs. Some are being sold to a local hunting ranch, some are going to slaughter for our own personal use. Found a guy over in the Holdenville area who is charging us $80 for any size hogs, to be processed any way we want. I’m getting mine in breakfast sausage.
These hogs have been real pissers to deal with. Had some close calls with a few.
Just walked past the back door to see this little bugger eating some watermelon rinds that I tossed by the back fence. 14 yds. Grabbed the bow, shot thru the open patio door. “El Jefe” and the Smoke Broadheads cored him like an apple.
Here are my first pics from my food plot this year.
Got a problem with some racoons…They show up late for the BBQ, then make a mess to complain.
Setting the groundblind up, we will see how they fell Ka-bobbed….
This past weekend, we all got together, Treestand, Possumfat, Al, Ryan, Garret, and Treestand’s wife Amber.
Did a 6 mile float trip down the Upper Illinois River, plenty of beer, food and fun.
Nothing like friends.
Cam and another fella took to the water of Ft. Gibson Lake last weekend and had a badass time with the help of Jake from Darkwater Bowfishing. 22 fish lost their lives in the span of 4 hours…would have been a lot more of a body count, but sometimes fish pull loose from the arrows, and other times, we just sucked. All in all, it was a helluva time. All fish were fed to farm pigs, so nothing was wasted. We will be back with Jake later in the summer to do more shooting.
